Zombie Resurgence is not Warzone
If you searched for Warzone Resurgence, you want Call of Duty: Warzone. Resurgence there is a squad mode where a living teammate lets you redeploy after a cooldown. Ninja Kiwi's Zombie Assault: Resurgence is a separate paid loot shooter. The shared word is a coincidence of naming.
| Zombie Assault: Resurgence | Warzone Resurgence | |
|---|---|---|
| Studio | Ninja Kiwi | Infinity Ward and Raven, published by Activision |
| Kind of game | Paid top-down co-op loot shooter | Free battle royale respawn mode |
| Platforms in the public record | Steam, iOS, Android | PlayStation, Xbox, Windows |
| Price | $14.99 list on Steam | Warzone itself is free to play |
| What 'resurgence' means | The title of the 2026 sequel | Redeploy while a teammate is alive |
The zombie modes people mix in
During The Haunting in October 2025, Call of Duty's own blog described Zombie Royale, where eliminated players become zombies and the last squad with a living player wins. The same season note describes Resurgence Casual Z: ordinary and armored zombies added to casual Resurgence and battle royale on Verdansk and Rebirth Island. Those are limited-time Call of Duty rules. They are not a Ninja Kiwi patch.
I am not describing the Warzone season that is live in November 2026. Seasonal playlists move. The sentence I will stand behind is the October 2025 blog post, plus the long-standing Resurgence redeploy rule.
If the four armored mercs and the strongboxes are what you wanted, start at the home page. If you wanted loadouts and Verdansk, stay with Call of Duty's site.
