Co-op

Co-op, cross-play, and offline

You can play online with up to three other people. Steam's category list includes Online Co-op and Cross-Platform Multiplayer. A Steam thread says Android and PC can share a squad if both use a Ninja Kiwi account. The studio has not published a platform matrix. Early offline assumptions conflict with later player reports of successful offline sessions; the table retains their chronology.

How to start a squad

  1. Create a character. The class choice is on the classes page.
  2. Open the private squad screen. Steam's screenshots label it Operations / Private Squad.
  3. Open the in-game Steam or Discord friends list and send a party invitation, or use the Steam/Discord interface to invite. Dev Diary 13 documents both paths; the receiving player accepts the pending invite in the game UI.

A separate community matchmaking thread describes a top-right join-code option for forming a party and then adding friends. That is one player’s UI report, distinct from the friend-list invitations documented in Dev Diary 13.

The offline contradiction

In the linked 26 Oct thread, early replies assume an internet requirement. Replies dated 29–30 Oct instead describe successfully playing story and Operations offline, with one player reporting a cloud-versus-local save choice on reconnect. These are different replies in one thread, rather than two independent confirmations; no official support statement is linked.

If the squad forms and the mission never ends, that symptom is on multiplayer not working. The size of the Steam pool is on player count.

Questions

Can I play Zombie Assault: Resurgence with friends?

Yes. Online co-op is 1 to 4 players, with Steam or Discord friend-list and platform-UI invites.

Does it have crossplay?

Steam lists cross-platform multiplayer. A community thread says Android and PC can group with a Ninja Kiwi account. There is no official matrix.

Can I play offline?

Players disagree. Early replies in one thread assume a connection is required; later replies report story and Operations offline after character creation. The page preserves that timeline.
