No. It is a paid game, not free to play. On the US store records read 2 Nov 2026, Steam listed $14.99 with a 20% discount to $11.99, and both iOS and Android listed $9.99. Only the separate Steam demo is free.

Why people ask if it is free

SAS: Zombie Assault 4 is free to download and sells extras inside the game. Resurgence is the sequel, and the sequel changed the deal: you pay once. A free demo sits beside the full game, so search results mix the two. The demo does not turn the full game into a free download.

Dev Diary 21, posted 25 Sep 2026 on the official subreddit, said the launch build would not include in-app purchases, and that an optional shop and DLC could come later. Steam's record for app 2747660 also showed no DLC pack on 2 Nov 2026. I am not calling that a promise that the price stays still.

Phones are a second purchase

The storefronts charge separately; no cross-buy offer is shown. A Steam thread on the app's discussion board says the phone edition is purchased again. I treat that as community agreement, not as a line in a Ninja Kiwi receipt. Cross-save is a different question: replies in that thread expect a shared-account save, but do not document a completed transfer. Details sit on the co-op page and the mobile page.
