Does the demo save progress?
Plan on a fresh character. Three separate community sources say demo levels, stats, and inventory do not move into the full game. The only reward the studio put in writing is the Morlok Frostbite pistol for Next Fest participants. Ninja Kiwi has not posted a progress-transfer promise.

What you can expect to keep
The written reward is the Morlok Frostbite, a cryo pistol. A February reply instead calls it Cryotek; that conflicts with the publisher’s name, and does not establish a second reward. Later wiki notes and Steam replies describe the full-game copy as something you receive by logging in on Steam and crafting, or by finishing the prologue, restarting, and checking the in-game mail. These are different community delivery reports; the linked sources do not establish a single guaranteed method.
Cross-platform saves are a different topic. Owning the demo, owning the full game, and sharing a Ninja Kiwi account are three switches. The co-op page keeps them apart.
